Formed in the Earth’s crust in the early 90s, the funk/rock/soul music of Egypt has been a part of so many peoples lives, and through their reunion shows, continues to move people whenever they play. Jeff Brodnax (vocals), Joe Lawlor (guitar) Kevin Murphy (drums) and Andy Waldeck (bass) have been pounding out the grooves for decades. Their timeless approach to powerful rock has inspired billions of kids to pick up an instrument and shred till their fingers and ears bleed. They bring their awesomeness to the historic Jefferson Theater in Charlottesville on Friday, January 9th with good friends and fellow rock geniuses Bella Morte… Let the slaughter begin.

About Bella Morte: Bella Morte sings songs of love and loss, hope and despair. Combining driving electronics, graveyard ballads, emotive storytelling, and powerful guitar riffs, Bella Morte have developed a distinctive style embraced by legions of fans around the world.

In 2013 Bella Morte released “The Best Of Bella Morte (1996-2012)” celebrating the first 17 years of their dark, diverse catalogue of sounds. This collection features highlights from the band’s 7 albums and 2 EPs.

On October 28th the band released their most powerful, mature album to date. 'Exorcisms' finds Bella Morte at their best, blending the driving, emotional style of their recent albums with the haunting synths and desolate landscapes found in their early work. The video for the title track stars Kim and Misty Ormiston, who will appear in "American Horror Story" this year. They will also appear in the 2015 film "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2."

As the band continues to tour and write new material, they remain eternally thankful to be doing what they love: singing songs about the dead and winning the hearts of the living along the way.
